Tropical Storm Debby

June  26, 2012

I never thought I’d be so happy to report “intermittent sunshine!”  We’ve been experiencing it all morning and, after 4 straight days of heavy rain, I can honestly say that intermittent is fabulous!  It is accompanied by blustery winds, but that should help dry up the extra ponds and creeks we have all over town.

Tropical Storm Debby certainly pummeled us with rain, winds, and high surf for the last few days, but overall, we are not too much worse for the wear.  Being a little starved for sunshine just makes us even more aware of how fortunate we are to live in paradise, where these dreary moments are rare.

While we sat on our lanai watching the lashing wind and rain and wondering, “when is this going to end?” I couldn’t help but think that many of us have felt the same way during this economic storm.  As I watch the financial reports seesaw and new clouds of financial turmoil broiling from time to time, I am nonetheless encouraged by the intermittent rays of hope in the housing and job markets and even the stock market.

I’ve waxed quite philosophical today.  Just blame it on the weather!  I look forward to updates from you on your plans to purchase a home here.
